Abacus hopes to repeat Ryder Cup retail success in 2016 and 2018

Swedish golf apparel brand Abacus Sportswear has signed a new Ryder Cup licensee agreement for the 2016 and 2018 events, in which golfers from Europe play as a team against opponents representing the US.

As a result, Abacus will produce an exclusive Ryder Cup collection for consumers, consisting of polo shirts, pullovers, layer products and high-performance rainwear, which will be made available through retailers across Europe.

Abacus, a pioneer of high-performance stretch waterproof fabrics, was an official licensee at the 2014 Ryder Cup. It said the event brought “unprecedented sales” of its garments in the build-up and during the competition.
