UK’s most expensive golf bag goes on sale

The Tartan Golf Bags being offered by Scotland’s oldest sports retailer draw on the skills of craftspeople from the respected Loch Carron Tartan Mill in the Scottish Borders, who weave the fine wool used for the bespoke product.
A range of tartans are offered for customers to choose from, with the Teflon-coated, water resistant bags available to order from the Glasgow-based store for £2,995.
“We’re expecting a great deal of interest from our customers in the US who will love the idea of showing their Scottish ancestry off while on the course,” Greaves managing director Sandy Greaves said.
Greaves can’t lay claim to having the most expensive golf bag in the world, however. Louis Vuitton’s self-proclaimed ‘world’s most expensive golf bag’, the Damier Geant Golf Bag, which makes ample use of cowhide in the piping, base and strap, is currently available for $13,800 (nearly £10,000).
