Nike passes Louis Vuitton in Forbes list

Sportswear manufacturer Nike has surpassed luxury brand Loius Vuitton as the world’s most valuable fashion brand, according to Forbes’ 2016 list of the most valuable brands.

The list was headed by Silicon Valley giants Apple, Google and Microsoft, with Nike edging out Louis Vuitton for 18th place. The French Fashion house dropped from 14th in 2015 to 19th.

Nike retained its position from last year and are valued at $27.5 billion with $30 billion in revenue. Rival sportswear brand adidas dropped from 83rd to 90th on the 2016 list.

Louis Vuitton remains on top in the battle of the luxury brands ahead of Gucci (44), Hermés (48), Cartier (58) and Chanel (80).
