Alvanon chief executive talks of “Zarification” of apparel industry
The chief executive of fitting strategies specialist Alvanon, Janice Wang-Millard, has said she believes Zara is still the clothing company that the whole industry is trying to emulate.

Speaking on December 2 at the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) 2015 Manufacturers’ Forum on December 2 in Hong Kong, Ms Wang-Millard said that in the work her company does to help clothing companies “align, engage and grow”, it’s clear to her that Zara is the company that “everyone is trying to copy”.

She said: “Most competitors have clients come into their stores four or five times a year, whereas at Zara the figure is 17 times. The newness and scarcity of the products on display in Zara stores are part of the key to this and, as a result, there is a Zarification going on today across apparel and retail.”
