Nepal wins duty-free access for apparel shipments to the US

29/02/2016
Apparel manufacturers in Nepal will have duty-free market access to the US thanks to a new bill signed by President Barack Obama at the end of February.

The Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Bill was endorsed by the US Senate in December but only came into law when the president signed it in February. It will run for 10 years and is aimed at helping Nepal’s economy recover following the earthquakes of April and May 2015.
