Directa Plus receives skin-safe certification for its graphene-enhanced fabrics
Graphene-based materials developer Directa Plus has announced that all of its graphene-based products have been confirmed as safe for contact with human skin.

Certification of the materials came from toxicity testing organisation Farcoderm.

Directa Plus’s chief executive, Giulio Cesareo, said on announcing the results of Farcoderm’s tests: “The results confirm that our graphene-based products are created through a process that uses only physical forces and no chemical additives. Our customers and end users can use our products in the knowledge that they have been certified safe for human contact.”

Sports brand Colmar has already begun using graphene-enhanced fabric in ski suits and is preparing to launch summer golf apparel collections containing the materials, which it sources from Directa Plus.

Colmar has said the addition of graphene has helped it offer athletes clothing that is both bacteriostatic and electrostatic, thereby reducing friction and enhancing sporting performance.
