Directa Plus prepares for growth in 2018

Producer and supplier of graphene-based products Directa Plus has released a trading update for 2017, revealing it expects full-year revenue of around €0.9 million.

It pointed to a strong second half to the year, in which it achieved twice the revenue of the first half, as the reason for this positive result.

Directa Plus said it “made excellent commercial progress” during 2017 and reinforced its leading position in the graphene market.

Among its highlights for the year was its partnership with customised protective clothing and workwear provider Alfredo Grassi, to which it supplies its Graphene Plus (G+) materials. Directa Plus said it believes this order represents the largest amount of textile materials to be treated with graphene nanoplatelets by any company to date.

The company also revealed that it had 35 active customers by the end of 2017 and has an encouraging order book to deliver its graphene-based technology to customers in 2018.

The measures it has put in place to drive sales in the future include a “substantial increase” in production capacity and efficiency. It has also launched its Advanced Development Area, which is dedicated to developing new and enhanced versions of its G+ materials. This initiative has also allowed it work more closely with customers and development partners to reduce the time required to introduce new products.

Directa Plus will release its confirmed full-year results for 2017 in April.
