Directa Plus takes graphene into workwear
Producer and supplier of graphene-based products for use in textiles and other applications Directa Plus has signed a contract to supply high-performance technical textiles enhanced with its Graphene Plus (G+) technology to Alfredo Grassi, a manufacturer of customised protective clothing, workwear and uniforms for private and public organisations.

The contract follows Alfredo Grassi’s successful tender with an Italian state-owned company to provide workwear for all of its employees.

G+, which has been independently certified as non-toxic and non-cytotoxic, will endow the workwear with a number of important properties, Directa Plus said. It is highly thermally conductive, allowing a homogeneous distribution of the heat produced by the human body in cold temperatures and a heat dispersion in hot temperatures. Similarly, it is able to dissipate antistatic charges and has a bacteriostatic effect, meaning bacteria do not proliferate on the fabric.

Directa Plus chief executive, Giulio Cesareo, said on announcing the new deal: “The workwear market represents a major opportunity for G+ and we are pleased to have secured our first order with Alfredo Grassi, a significant supplier of workwear to public and private enterprises globally. Our partnership is deepening and we look forward to working together to develop and market new product lines.”
