The Olympic committee of South Korea has worked with Dutch textile chemicals manufacturer Tanatex to develop “Zika-proof” uniforms for athletes to wear at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro from August 5-21.

South Korean athletes will wear uniforms with special mosquito-repellent finishes in the fabric. Competitors will wear the uniforms at training and at ceremonies at the event.

Tanatex said it was proud to “contribute to the Olympic dream by creating safe and optimal conditions for the athletes to perform at their best”.
