Asics warns Russian wrestlers over doping

02/08/2016
Japanese sportswear group Asics says it will not supply uniforms for Russian wrestlers competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro if any more doping violations are detected.

"While United World Wrestling — the world governing body for wrestling — continue to allow clean Russian athletes to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games, as official kit supplier to the Russian Wrestling Federation, Asics will continue to support its athletes by providing footwear and apparel," it said.

It added, however, that any further cases of doping would lead Asics to “review” its agreement with the Russian team.
