Athletes representing China in table tennis and shooting at the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will wear garments treated with odour control technology from Antimicrobial specialist Microban.

The US company’s ZPTech technology will feature in the sports shirts worn by these athletes. Microban says the technology is effective against both bacteria and fungi. It has partnered with China-based sportswear company Li Ning to provide the garments.

“ZPTech is used by more than 60 leading sports, athleisure, apparel and footwear brands, and earlier this year, received Bluesign approval,” Microban said.
