His tasks will include working with the company’s sales team to provide technical input into how Microban antimicrobial solutions can be integrated into textile products, as well as to undertake product engineering and testing, the company said.
Dr Davidson has almost three decades of experience in the textile industry, working for companies such as ROTTA and DyStar, and has two PhDs, in applied textile chemistry and technology, as well as qualifications in textile colouration, textile technology and textile chemistry.
His appointment is part of a drive by Microban to increase its penetration into textile markets in Europe, including sportswear, following the launch of its new PB Series antibacterial technology.
The company offers a range of more than 20 different antibacterial technologies, holds more than 100 patents and conducts more than 40,000 laboratory tests annually to underpin technical efficacy.
