WFSGI renews its commitment to Olympic Movement
The World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) signed a co-operation agreement at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne on June 2. The two organisations, who have been working together since 1997, said afterwards that the aim of the renewed agreement was to strengthen the relationship between the sporting goods industry and the Olympic Movement.

Their cooperation in the years ahead will focus primarily on improving the welfare of Olympic athletes, on sustainable development and on the integrity of sport.

WFSGI president, Frank Dassler, said at the event that his organisation and its members play an important role in the Olympic Movement by providing athletes, teams, national federations and other sports organisations with the clothing and equipment they need. He added that WFSGI also supports the Olympic ethos through its commitment to promoting “the highest ethical standards within the sporting goods global marketplace”.
