Australia sportstech delegation visits India

An Australian sportstech trade delegation, led by the State Government of Victoria, visited India from May 9 to 13 to meet with their counterparts in the country. The mission, a first for the sector, was organised in partnership with The Australian Sports Technologies Network.

During their visit the delegation held business meetings and networking events with potential Indian industry partners including manufacturers and retailers. They also met Indian government officials to discuss the need for collaborative partnerships to benefit both countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between The Wool Research Association (WRA) of India and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Australia (RMIT University). The MoU will allow both organisations to make use of the expertise from RMIT's Centre for Advanced Materials and Performance Textiles (CAMPT).

CAMPT, a textile research facility within the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University, has developed products including protective fabrics for defence and fire fighters, materials for improved sports performance and car seat covers that ensure optimal airbag deployments.
