Wearable technology firm takes fan shirts to Europe

Clothing technology provider Wearable Experiments (WE:EX) has chosen the Euro 2016 football tournament in France as the platform for the launch in Europe of its Football Fan Shirt product.

The shirt transmits real time game action to the fan, sending haptic vibrations as important action happens on the field, for example if there is a goal, a near miss, a penalty, a red card and so on.

“Our Fan Shirt is designed to create an intimate connection between fans and their favourite team, amplifying the emotions and experiences players feel during the game,” said Billie Whitehouse, co-founder of Wearable Experiments, which started life in Sydney, but is now based in New York. “Using the skin as an interface, our shirts allow the excitement of the game to be felt in ways never experienced before.”
