The inaugural Apparel Textile Sourcing Expo will take place from August 22 to 24 at the International Centre in the Canadian city of Toronto. According to JP Communications, organisers of the event, it will be Canada’s first apparel and textile trade show.

The event will be staged with the help of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textile and Apparel (CCCT) and Canadian retailers and manufacturers will be able to meet apparel and textile manufacturers from countries including China, India, the USA, Taiwan, Vietnam and Colombia.

Bob Kirke, executive director of the Canadian Apparel Federation, said that Canada has long needed a trade show that allows the country’s apparel and textile importers and retailers to meet international producers from around the world. He added that “the event offers an important new resource for our domestic market”.

“This event is a new project started for the promotion of global textile and apparel trade by CCCT,” said Jiang Hui, CCCT chairman. “This event is a new project started for the promotion of global textile and apparel trade by CCCT,” said Jiang Hui, CCCT chairman.
