Dachstein to present colour-changing shoe

Austrian mountain footwear brand Dachstein is proud of its heritage and its commitment to traditional Austrian styles and production methods, but the Salzburg-based company is preparing something new for the 2016 OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen (July 14-16).

It has described a new model called Skylite Thermocolor as something new and exciting. “Heat-sensitive colour pigments change colour as the temperature alters,” chief executive, Oliver Wieser, has explained.

Dachstein describes its Skylite model as a “sporty and laid-back sneaker”, a summer shoe that is lightweight and can be worn all day. It worked with sole technology provider Vibram to develop an exclusive sole for the shoe.
