Nanotex, a supplier of nanotechnology-based textile enhancements, has developed its Durable Wear technology for use in apparel. The company says it is modified at the molecular level to resist wear and prolong the life of cotton or cotton-rich garments by offering abrasion resistance and strong durability.

“At Nanotex, we are continually researching how science and technology can enhance fabrics so our brand partners have new ways to compete in the marketplace,” said Randy Rubin, CEO of Nanotex.

“Retailers are now coming to us and asking for us to push the boundaries of ordinary fabric to reach new capabilities such as extending the life of the fabric to resist wear and tear from kids,” she added.

Nanotex’s Durable wear technology is being used in a new line of children’s clothing called Cat & Jack, which was launched by US retailer Target in July.
