Net earnings for the quarter were $48.2 million, which is 4.8% higher than the group achieved in the third quarter of 2015 on substantially greater revenue.
Chief executive, Blake Krueger, said the lower revenues were “in line with our expectations” and were the result of a “tepid retail environment”. He added: “We continued to make excellent progress in strengthening our product innovation pipeline with an intense focus on our consumers.”
The group’s footwear brands include Keds, Merrell, Saucony, Sebago, Sperry and Wolverine.
