Wolverine snaps up industry veteran

In February 2016, the group announced a new group structure for its brands, which saw them split into three segments: Wolverine Outdoor and Lifestyle Group, Wolverine Boston Group and Wolverine Heritage Group.
The Outdoor and Lifestyle group is made up of the Merrell, Chaco, Cat Footwear, Hush Puppies and Sebago brands. It was initially headed by Jim Zwiers, but he has now been promoted to the newly-created position of executive vice president of the company.
In his place comes Mr Spaletto, an industry veteran with extensive experience in branded apparel and footwear. He most recently served as president of VF-owned The North Face. He will be responsible for leading the growth of Wolverine’s outdoor and lifestyle brands.
“Todd is one of the best brand builders in the industry with a proven track record as a growth driver and strategic thought leader,” said Blake Krueger, chairman of Wolverine. “He possesses a deep understanding of consumers and knows how to deliver product innovation and compelling marketing.”
In his new position, Mr Zwiers will lead Wolverine’s “key strategic transformation initiatives”. He has been at the company for nearly 20 years, occupying a variety of leadership roles during that time.
