Wolverine prepares for military contracts

06/09/2016
Outdoor footwear group Wolverine Worldwide is to expand its footwear manufacturing facility in Big Rapids, US

It primarily manufactures the company’s Bates brand of military footwear. The expansion will make room for potential contracts from the US Department of Defence, according to Mike Jeppesen, president of global operations for Wolverine’s Heritage Group.

Wolverine will invest approximately $1 million to increase the manufacturing space available by 16,000 square feet. It will also be used to ease raw material and storage constraints at its facility in Rockford, US.
