28/10/2016
Swiss textile machinery manufacturer Rieter has reported a 22% increase in the volume of orders it received in the first nine months of 2016 compared to the same period last year. With regard to orders that relate specifically to machines and systems (the company also includes after-sales services and components in its revenue calculations), the increase is substantially higher at 47%.

The overall value of orders in the first nine months of this year was CHF 718.4 million, with machines and systems orders accounting for CHF 477.6 million of that total.

Orders from Chinese textile manufacturers “continued to be below average”, Rieter said on announcing the figures and orders from Turkish textile firms in the third quarter were “ considerably below the level achieved in the first months of 2016”. But the company said it was very pleased with “major orders” received from India, with its K42 compact spinning machine range proving particularly popular there.
