Dip in sales and orders for Rieter

Sales for the first six months of the year were CHF 415.2 million ($433.9 million), 5% down on the same period of 2016.
The company said it saw its “most significant sales” in Asian countries (excluding China, India and Turkey). Sales to this region declined, however, due to reduced shipments to Bangladesh and Vietnam, it explained.
Rieter’s sales in China dropped 20% compared to the first half of 2016, but there was better news from India, where sales were 16% higher. It also saw impressive growth in the Turkish markets, where sales jumped 55%. It said this was attributable to the delivery of orders from the previous year.
