Bangladesh plans new testing lab

01/11/2016
The Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers Association (BGAPMEA) plans to launch a testing laboratory in order to improve the quality of accessories manufactured in the country.

It hopes the facility will provide reliable testing facilities for a range of products. Abdul Kader Khan, president of the BGAPMEA, told local media that consistent product testing is a key requirement for international buyers. The new laboratory is designed to boost exports of garment accessories from Bangladesh.

The laboratory will be set up with the help of the Integrated Support to Poverty and Inequality Reduction through Enterprise Development (INSPIRED) project, which is funded by the ministry of industries and the European Union (EU). The BGAPMEA hopes to launch it in November.
