Lectra marks “new milestone” with Chinese textile firm
Technology provider Lectra has provided new automated cutting technology to support Chinese textile group Ruyi’s “intelligent cutting line”.

As part of a programme the company is putting in place to  respond to the Chinese government’s ‘Made in China 2025’ initiative, a ten-year strategic plan to upgrade manufacturing across the country, with ‘smart’ and ‘value-added’ production among the key themes.

Ruyi has installed eight Lectra cutting machines, including the Vector Matchline, which automatically matches lines and grids for suit-making. It is the first company in Asia to invest in this technology. On announcing the deal, company chairman, Qiuya Fu, described the Vector Matchline as “the world’s most advanced cutting machine”. He said Ruyi is “dedicated to technology innovation”.

Lectra’s chief marketing and communications officer, Céline Choussy Bedouet, said this marks “a new milestone” in the relationship between her company and Ruyi; the began working together in 2014.
