Legero loses its MD to Keen

06/12/2016
Pioneering Austrian shoe brand Legero has lost its managing director, Jens Christian Meier, to outdoor footwear company Keen. Mr Meier will move to Portland to take up the role of executive vice-president at Keen before the end of the year.

Graz-based Legero, which specialises in lightweight, sporty styles, came to prominence in 2015 when it became the first footwear brand to use Tencel, using Lenzing’s cellulosic fibre to make the laces in its Vios shoes compostable.

At Keen, Mr Meier will concentrate on running the company’s global supply chain, seeking to bring in what the Portland-based brand referred to as “industry-leading best practices”, spanning raw materials to the delivery of finished products, including owned manufacturing, third-party sourcing, planning, distribution, and logistics.

Prior to joining Legero, Jens Christian Meier worked in a number of senior roles at Ecco footwear.
