It will invest $50 million in the plant, which will be managed by its Vietnamese subsidiary, Paiho Shih Holdings.
The company says it will mainly produce jacquard knitted fabrics for export to various countries. Cheng Kuo-yen, chairman of Paiho Shih, said this will help it enhance its presence in the footwear material market. This will allow it to meet increasing global demand, he added.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Paiho will install 42 machines at the facility, with the aim of beginning commercial production by the end of 2017. In the medium-term, it will have 350 machines.
