Outsource athletic footwear manufacturing group Yue Yuen recorded revenue of just under $8.5 billion for 2016. This figure is almost flat with the 2015 result, showing growth of 0.5%.

However, year on year the Taiwanese company earned 37% more in net profits in 2016 with a figure of $534.6 million.

Growth in revenues for athletic shoes increased by 2.4% year on year, accounting for 48.5% of the group’s total sales at more than $4.1 billion. Revenues from casual and outdoor shoes (which Yue Yuen groups together) fell by almost 10%, however, reaching just over $1.2 billion.

In the course of 2016, Yue Yuen, which manufactures on behalf of Nike, adidas, Reebok, ASICS, New Balance, Puma, Under Amour, Converse, Merrell, Salomon, Timberland and other brands, produced 322 million pairs of shoes. The comparative figure for 2015 was 317.5 million pairs, showing a growth in volume of 1.4%. Growth in volume was offset by a fall in average selling prices, Yue Yuen said on releasing its results.
