OutDoor to have dedicated Running Centre as boundary blurs between trail and city
The organisers of the OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen have announced that they will set up a dedicated Running Centre for the 2017 event (June 18-21). Trail running has been a focus for outdoor footwear and apparel brands a number of years, but the new Running Centre will devote space to running in all environments.

This move stems from the perception that trail runners often run in urban environments too and that any boundary that exists between running on the streets or in a city park and running in forests, hills and mountains is more fluid now than ever.

“Manufacturers and athletes have increasingly been suggesting that we extend the trail running section to cover the wider concept of running,” the organisers said on making the announcement. “After all, running is an important part of training for all outdoor activities.”
