Its chief executive, Steve Rendle, said the result was “right in line with our expectations” and that the group’s largest brands, including The North Face, Timberland and Vans, had performed well, delivering solid results “against a retail backdrop that continues to experience significant dislocation”.
The group’s outdoor and action sports group increased its revenues by 2% year on year, bringing in revenues of almost $1.7 billion for the quarter.
Mr Rendle said VF is focused on becoming more agile and more consumer-centric.
