Rapha launches special collection for Giro d’Italia number 100
The 2017 Giro d’Italia will be the one-hundredth edition of the race. It launched in 1909, but with interruptions during both World Wars, the edition that began on Sardinia on May 5 and ends in Milan on May 28, will be race number 100.

To celebrate the occasion, cycling apparel brand Rapha has released a new collection honouring Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi, still joint-holder of most Giro titles with five and the competitor honoured in every Giro by having the highest point of the race called the Cima Coppi. Fausto Coppi’s Giro victories were in the 1940s and 1950s.

On releasing its Coppi Collection, Rapha said the special edition pieces “echo the style of the era, rich with all the flair and detail you’d expect”. It includes three jerseys, black, pink and sky blue, that are made in Italy from merino wool.
