Rapha to offer customised cycling clothing
UK-based cycling clothing brand Rapha has launched its first custom clothing programme, giving its customers the opportunity to personalise a wide range of products from its core collection.

This is possible thanks to a new service recently launched by fashion software company Unmade, of which Rapha is the first user. It allows for the design and automated manufacture of digitally printed apparel, reducing the amount of manual involvement required in the process and providing a simpler user experience, the developer has said.

Rapha will use it to offer cycling clubs, businesses or individual cyclists the chance to choose the colours, patterns and designs of their kit. They will also be able to add their own logo.

The initial launch includes jerseys, gilets, bib shorts, arm warmers and baselayers from Rapha’s Pro Team, Classic and Core ranges. It plans to add aero jerseys, knee and leg warmers and other items to the custom programme in the future.

Over the past year, Rapha has worked with a number of its partners to perfect the customisation process. A number of their designs are available to view on the Rapha website (example pictured).

Announcing the launch, Ed Clifford, head of Rapha Custom, said: “When launching Rapha Custom we looked to address some of the biggest constraints for groups of cyclists creating custom kit. The market was crying out for a design led and fully digital customer experience that was seamless in manufacturing and delivery. Unmade’s software provides us with a best in class system that is fully automated and integrated throughout the entire process.”
