London-based Rapha, the cycling brand that has long specialised in clothing and accessories for street riding and racing, will be launching its first collection of mountain bike clothing in 2021. 

The announcement came in a letter from Rapha CEO and founder Simon Mottram, who said the launch will be “making the most of our design expertise and a new office in a mountain biking mecca, to take the brand somewhere entirely new”. 

More details will follow throughout the year, he added. 

Mr Mottram also revealed that a new line of racing shoe will come out next month. The Rapha’s Pro Team shoe, designed with feedback from Australian professional road racing cyclist  Lachlan Morton, has a one-piece woven upper made of the brand’s new proprietary Powerweave fabric.
