India to drive increase in cotton crop size

According to figures released by the International Cotton Advisory Committee, growers across the world have planted cotton on 13.5 million hectares for the 2017-2018 season, an increase of 11% year on year.

India will have more than one-third of the world’s total crop with 11.5 million hectares. The committee said the US has planted 20% more cotton for 2017-2018 while Pakistan has increased its cotton planting by almost 25%.
