Nike unveils plans for new flagship in New York
Sportswear manufacturer Nike has announced that it will open a new flagship store in New York in early 2019.

It will close its current New York store, located at 6 East 57th Street in Spring 2018 in preparation for the opening of the new five-floor location at 650 Fifth Avenue at West 52nd Street.

The first four floors of the new store will feature products and innovations for a range of sports, with the bottom floor carrying a specially-curated assortment of products inspired by the local area.

The fifth floor will only be accessible to NikePlus members, with unique products, experiences and customisation opportunities. They will also have access to Nike Expert sessions, one-on-one appointments with Nike Experts who can offer advice on their product needs.

In another development, Nike also revealed it will name three new buildings at its campus in Portland after celebrated athletes. Tennis star Serena Williams, running legend Sebastian Coe and US college basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will all have buildings named in their honour.
