Archroma launches new version of Smartrepel Hydro

Textile chemicals developer Archroma has launched a new version of its Smartrepel Hydro product, which it describes as a “nature-friendlier” agent for biodegradable, non-PFC based durable water repellent (DWR) protection.

It is based on micro-encapsulation and can provide DWR functionality to polyester, polyamide and cotton-based textiles, Archroma has said. The new formulation shows improved runnability and reduced roller build-up, the company added.

“This advanced version of our Smartrepel technology combines, into one product, two benefits that are sought after by outdoor brands and retailers: a nature-friendlier chemistry, together with long-lasting, efficient water repellency for all fibres,” said Georg Lang, global head of product marketing finishing, textile specialties, at Archroma.”
