Swedish outdoor group Thule has reported sales of SEK 5,872 million ($726 million) for 2017. When currency variations are considered, this represents a year on year increase of 9.5%.

The company saw its sales in the Europe & Rest of the World region increase 13%, driven by growth of 45% in revenue from its ‘Active with Kids’ product category.

It was a similar story in the Americas, with a 26% increase in ‘Active with Kids’ product sales helping Thule increase its revenue in the region by 3%.

Reacting to the results, Thule CEO and president, Magnus Welander, said: “We are satisfied with a fantastic 2017, a year in which we delivered very strong financial results, while successfully broadening our product offering for future growth.”

Among the company’s highlights for last year was the opening of a new assembly facility in Pila, Poland. Production at this facility began in the fourth quarter of the year, adding to the capacity already available at its plant in nearby Huta.
