Bangladesh Denim Expo puts the spotlight on equality

30/04/2018
The 2018 edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo will take place from May 9-10 at the International Convention City in Dhaka, with more than 60 exhibitors preparing to display their products.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Equality’. It will allow Bangladesh to demonstrate the progress it has made with regards to equality in the working conditions and the treatment of employees in the country.

The topic will be approached from different angles during the show in order to address various aspects of equality. These will include gender equality, equal opportunities for workers of different religions or sexual orientations, and how equal treatment of workers and employers can be achieved.

"The Bangladesh Denim Expo has become a spot of regular get together of key denim stakeholders from across the world," said the show’s founder and CEO, Mostafiz Uddin. "The visitors also exchange their views and discuss the importance of the themes. So, it would be not an exaggeration to say that the Bangladesh Denim Expo is successfully contributing to improving the working conditions by creating tangible awareness."

Beyond the exhibition space, the 2018 Bangladesh Denim Expo will also feature a detailed seminar programme as well as a ‘Trend Zone’, where visitors can learn about the latest developments in fabric, finishing and styling.
