ISPO Shanghai will focus on women’s sport

Organiser, Messe München, has said it expects 350 exhibitors to take part in ISPO Shanghai, from July 5-7.

It said that for this, the fourth edition of the event, ISPO Shanghai will pick up on trends in the Chinese sporting goods industry, particularly the need to focus more strongly on the participation in sport of women and children. A special conference, the Women’s Sports Industry Forum, will take place at ISPO Shanghai 2018.

ISPO organisers have said sales in the Chinese sporting goods industry are expected to reach more than $460 billion by 2020. “Although women participate less in sport than men, they spend more money on their athletic clothing and work-outs,” the exhibition organisers said. “Sporting goods manufacturers have picked up on this trend. The number of women-only stores is steadily growing here.”
