A&E offers water-repellency enhancement for sewing threads

Thread manufacturer American & Efird (A&E) has launched Repel, a new water-repellency enhancement that customers can choose to add to its products. It is free from perfluorocarbons (PFCSs) and will provide valuable extra functionality to A&E threads, particularly those used in backpacks, footwear, athletic apparel and workwear, the company said, without affecting product colour.

Senior vice-president for sales, Chris Alt, commented: “Repel is an example of smart innovation as A&E continues to expand the boundaries of what performance sewing threads can do.”
