A&E uses Repreve to help meet eco-friendly need

Sewing thread manufacturer American & Efird (A&E) has used Repreve from Unifi to make a new product called Anefil Poly. It’s a continuous-filament, polyester sewing thread that, thanks to its inclusion of Repreve, made from recycled plastic bottles, A&E says will help improve the sustainability of products including footwear and outdoor equipment.

“A&E recognised the lack of options for an eco-friendly, performance sewing thread,” said Chris Alt, senior vice-president for sales, at the time of the launch. “Anefil Poly fills the need for sustainable sewing thread within a number of market segments.”
