Female ambassadors help adidas rethink women's sneaker design

It has described this product as “a versatile shoe made specifically for women that performs on the road and in the gym.”
The EdgeBounce was developed over the course of 18 months with input from four of adidas’ ambassadors – Ally Love, Chinae Alexander, Jera Foster-Fell and Meagan Kong.
They worked with designers at the company’s Running division to create a sneaker that could fit with their multi-sport lifestyle. Among the qualities they looked for were versatility, comfort and support.
The EdgeBounce features an internal fit system that locks down into the sock liner in order to offer an adaptive and adjustable fit across the midfoot. A textile upper provides extra support for the forefoot during lateral movements, while adidas’ Bounce technology offers extra cushioning in the midsole.
“adidas is excited to be finding new ways to work with our brand ambassadors and influencers to co-create products based off their specific insights,” said Alexa Andersen, director of adidas Women’s Running in the US. “Working with these amazing women over the past 18 months on EdgeBounce has allowed us to rethink the way we approach product creation.”
