Sports brand adidas has unveiled a version of its Ultra Boost shoe specifically tailored to the needs of female runners.

The Ultra Boost X has been made to form to the shape of the female foot. It was designed using adidas’s Aramis motion-capture technology, which allowed the brand to identify where support is needed when running.

“Based on research of the female foot, we tailored the leading technology of Ultra Boost specifically for women, delivering the most innovative and technical running shoe in an industry-leading silhouette,” said Andre Maestrini, general manager for Adidas Running.

The shoe has a free-floating arch to offer greater stability. It also has an open toe design for breathability and a full-length Boost midsole to maximise energy return. An innovative lacing systems has been devised to support quick-fire movements and the Stretchweb outsole has been specifically designed for the female gait.
