Anta rejects allegations over its accounts

Chinese sportswear brand Anta Sports has described as “inaccurate and misleading” a research report which has alleged that its accounting practices are questionable. 

On June 12, Hong Kong-based GMT Research issues a report to its subscribers in which it commented that Anta’s operating margins were so high that it was either the world’s best-run sportswear firm or its accounting practices were questionable. This was reported by Reuters. 

In response, Anta said the report contained factual errors, misleading statements and unfounded speculation. It is considering legal action. 

“The board vigorously denies the speculations contained in the report and considers them to be inaccurate and misleading,” Anta chairman Ding Shizhong said in a statement.
