Chemours expands non-fluorinated DWR offering

Supplier of durable water repellency (DWR) technology to the performance textiles industry Chemours is expanding its non-fluorinated DWR offering with the introduction of Zelan R2 PLUS.

The new product contains 30% renewably sourced, plant-based raw materials and is focused on delivering what Chemours has called “a high level of durable water repellency for all substrates” that can help brands minimise the environmental impact of the textile supply chain. Its claim is that Zelan R2 PLUS is up to three times more durable than existing non-fluorinated repellents.

It is bluesign-approved and is an approved input finishing chemical for GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). It complements Zelan R3, the chemistry behind Chemours’ Teflon EcoLite product
