Huntsman and ICI Pakistan join forces to help grow textile sector
13/08/2018
Pakistan’s government has calculated that the wider textile sector accounts for 57% of the country’s export revenues and 40% of the industrial workforce, but has observed that rising costs and tougher global competition are becoming increasingly large challenges for the industry as a whole. Huntsman Textile Effects and ICI Pakistan have said their new alliance will help boost the sector’s productivity and sustainability.
“Sharing a common vision of a stronger textile sector in Pakistan, we are combining our resources to respond to this important market with greater speed, more flexibility and a higher standard of service,” said Chuck Hirsch, vice-president for commercial and technical resources at Huntsman Textile Effects at the time of the announcement. “Together, we are in an even stronger position to support customers here and help them produce higher-value products from a cleaner and more modern supply chain.”
