Salomon shoe can help road-runners tackle the trail

“We are making a point of targeting road-runners that have the desire to run on trails with the idea of first mixing their running routines with off-road sessions,” said the head of brand for running and outdoor at Salomon, Marion Blache, in recent comments. “Because they are attracted by nature, once they try, they are hooked.”
Features in the Sense Ride shoe that help runners make this transition include the brand’s proprietary Vibe Technology cushioning system, which can dampen vibration, reduce fatigue and help reduce the risk of injury.
At the same time, what Salomon refers to as the shoe’s “rocker geometry” helps deliver a natural transition from heel to toe. The Sense Ride also has a decoupled bottom unit that flexes the shoe where the foot flexes. The construction helps keep the foot secure for control on steep descents, while the brand’s proprietary Wet Traction Contagrip offers “a sticky and durable grab, even on slick terrain”, Salomon has said.
