Uniqlo and Toray plan manufacturing plants in Indonesia

12/09/2018
The parent company of clothing brand Uniqlo, Fast Retailing, has confirmed to business media group Nikkei that it will open a manufacturing facility in Indonesia before the end of 2018.

It will source raw material locally; among its neighbours on the new site will be yarn, fibre and fabric manufacturer and fellow-Japanese company Toray.

Nikkei said Uniqlo is joining “many Japanese apparel companies” that are moving production away from China to other parts of Asia.
