Indorama commits to “new plastic economy” initiatives

Fibre manufacturer Indorama has committed to an increase in its use of post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyester waste materials as feedstock for the future. The group has also signed up to support the “new plastic economy” initiatives of campaign group the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Chief executive, Aloke Lohia, said at the time of the announcement: “We are proud to work together with key players towards the vision of a circular economy for plastics. It is important for us to be able to offer added value to our customers while protecting the environment in the best possible way.”
