New Arc’teryx coat provides ‘cocoon’ of warmth

Outdoor brand Arc’teryx has said snap closures on a new coat for women, the Osanna, are proving to be an important component, alongside breathable water-resistance and insulation technologies, in helping wearers stay warm.

Gore-Tex Thermium breathable membrane technology helps prevent moisture from coming in, while proprietary Coreloft synthetic insulation helps the Osanna retain warmth. But the simple idea of overlapping sides and closures that quickly snap the coat closed help it form what Arc’teryx has described as a cocoon for keeping the cold out.
